Happy Thanksgiving! Yes, we know Thanksgiving is a time to think about giving thanks and gratitude. But what about Thanks-taking? What???
Here's my thought for today: I'm suggesting that you take what you give.
One common experience I see in many of my clients is that they are so generous of spirit to others, so giving, so forgiving. Yet when it comes to themselves, well, that's another story.
So this Thanksgiving, I'd like to suggest something that may seem so radical - and even uncomfortable: treat yourself with the same generoisty of spiri with which you treat others. Give to yourself your own love and appreciation. And forgive yourself in the way you are willing to forgive others.
Try it. I imagine you will feel light, relieved, and a sense of calm. And that is something to be truly grateful for.
